Sanskriti Labs Private Limited, the Bengaluru company that builds Snaprint, is now recognised as a startup by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Government of India's Startup India initiative.
For a small team building print kiosks, this matters. It is a signal to the colleges, shop owners, housing societies and partners we work with that Snaprint is a registered, recognised Indian startup with a long-term plan. You will now see the DPIIT badge at the bottom of every page on this site.
Here is what we build, how it works and where we are taking it.
The problem: India's xerox counter has not changed in decades
Every college gate, market street and office block in India has a xerox shop nearby. It is one of the most used small-business services in the country, and it still runs the way it did twenty years ago:
- One counter, one queue. One person handles one job at a time. In exam week the line goes out the door, and some people leave.
- Pen drives and WhatsApp. Files arrive on a pen drive or as a WhatsApp message to the owner's phone, then get printed by hand.
- Closed means closed. Lunch, early closing and Sundays send print demand nowhere. Late-night assignments and early-morning forms have no place to print.
- Nobody built the layer underneath. Kirana stores got billing software and local services got apps. The xerox counter got skipped. We wrote more on why print counters were left out.
What Snaprint is
Snaprint is a self-service print kiosk. It stands where people already are: a college library, a hostel block, an apartment lobby, an office or a shop front. It takes the routine print jobs, runs unattended all day and needs no staff.
There are two models, S1 Pro and S1 Pro Max. Both share the same body, software and ownership terms. The difference is print speed and paper tray size. See models, prices and specs.
How a customer prints
The whole flow runs in the phone browser. There is no app to install and no pen drive.
- Scan the QR. Any phone camera, Android or iOS, opens the print flow from the code on the kiosk screen.
- Add files. PDF, DOCX or JPG, from the phone or a cloud drive.
- Set it up. Paper size, copies, colour or B&W. The price is shown before paying.
- Pay. UPI or card, then confirm to print.
- Collect. Pages land in the front tray. Phone to paper takes about 60 seconds.
Files travel over TLS and are encrypted with AES-256 in transit and at rest. Read the privacy policy for how files are handled.
How the owner runs it
The person who owns the kiosk runs it from their phone:
- Live dashboard. Revenue, print counts, paper level and kiosk status, live.
- Their price, their money. The owner sets the per-page price. UPI payments settle straight to their account. 100% of print revenue goes to the kiosk owner. Zero revenue sharing.
- Almost no upkeep. The only routine work is refilling paper and ink. The rear panel locks and only the owner opens it.
- Support included. Lifetime software updates, 48-hour hardware support and 24/7 help for customers, so the owner never has to take their calls.
The kiosk is a one-time purchase. There are no monthly fees, no software subscription and no mandatory AMC. It is delivered within 15 days of payment and is live within an hour of delivery.
Our vision: a new xerox network for India
We are not trying to replace the neighbourhood xerox shop. We want to give it, and every busy space in India, a print counter that never closes.
The idea is simple. Thousands of independently owned kiosks, each one owned by a local shop owner, college, society or entrepreneur, all on the same software and the same customer flow. A student in Bengaluru and a resident in Kochi scan the same code, see the same prices up front and collect their print the same way. The kiosk finder at app.snaprints.com already shows customers the nearest live Snaprint.
That is what we mean by India's independent kiosk printing network:
- Independent. Each kiosk belongs to its owner, not to us. No revenue share, no platform lock-in.
- Always open. The kiosk keeps printing after the shop shuts, through lunch and on holidays.
- Everywhere people are. Campuses, shops, apartments, offices, hospitals and transit hubs.
- Built in India. Designed and built by Sanskriti Labs in Bengaluru, where Snaprint kiosks are live today.
DPIIT recognition is one step on that path. The next steps are more kiosks in more cities, owned by more people.
